Fortunately, your Guardian will get a chance to reclaim the gun as part of the Cayde’s Will quest line. This guide will outline the steps required to get the Ace of Spades.

How to Get the Cayde’s Will Quest

Ace Of Spades Quest Line Steps

To get the Cayde’s Will quest line, you will have to complete the Forsaken campaign, which culminates in the completion of the Vengeance Triumph. For more in what Triumphs are, have a look at our guide.

Cayde’s Will – Step 1

Ace Of Spades Exotic Quest

The first step couldn’t be more simple. Merely visit Banshee-44, the gunsmith, in the Tower.

Cayde’s Will – Step 2

The second step of the Cayde’s Will quest line requires you to get five Invasion Kills in Gambit with a hand cannon. Invasion Kills are awarded when you defeat a Guardian from the other team that has invaded your side of Destiny 2: Forsaken‘s new PvPvE mode. Cayde’s Will – Step 3

In this step, you must defeat 250 enemies in strikes while using a hand cannon. This will help Banshee calibrate the Ace of Spades to your hand. Sounds like nonsense to me, but never mind that, hit the strikes playlist!

Cayde’s Will – Step 4

This step will require you to visit the Crucible in any playlist and defeat opponents with precision final blows from any hand cannon to generate more biorhythmic data for Banshee.

Cayde’s Will – Step 5

For the next step, you’ll have to track down four of Cayde’s hidden personal caches in the following locations:

  • EDZ
  • Io
  • Nessus
  • Tangled Shore

Cayde’s Will – Step 6: Ace in the Hole

Ace Of Spades Questline D2

After you’ve located all of Cayde’s hidden personal caches, you’ll be sent on one final mission. It’s called “Ace in the Hole” and is located on Titan. It’s a single-player only mission and heavily lore focused. You’ll scour the Pacific Archeology for ten more of Cayde’s caches. Each will contain a note to one of his would-be-killers and I would advise that you listen closely to everything Cayde says. While there are rumors of a hidden message in these notes, at the very least they make for a lovely goodbye to our favorite hunter. The video below shows you the location of each of the caches in the mission.

Once you’ve completed all the steps to satisfy the Cayde’s Will quest, Banshee-44 will tune the Ace of Spades to your hand and present you with the fabled Ace of Spades exotic hand cannon.
